2025 Grand Marshal
Bob Fitzsimmons
Bob Fitzsimmons was chosen for Grand Marshal for 2025 Blast from the Past REWIND due to him being the longest lasting member of the MAYFEST Committee. Bob was the former CEO of Farmer's Mutual Insurance in Marble and a well-respected community member. Bob was one of the original committee members and served as past President and Secretary. Starting out as MAY DAYS by the Fryburg Business Association (FABA) in 1991, the organization collapsed in 1997. Bob reorganized the committee, and the date was cautiously changed from the first weekend in May to Memorial Day weekend after much discussion in 1999. MAYFEST was born and it has continued other than in 2020 when we were forced to cancel due to COVID.
Justin "Goob" Forsythe has been chosen as the Grand Marshal for 2024 keeping with the theme of Blast from the Past! He is a very young owner of the oldest business in Fryburg we were excited to have him represent our community. Justin grew up Knox, graduating from Keystone High school in 2013. He continued his education and graduated from Community College of Allegheny County with an Associates Degree in Science of Automotive Technology specializing in general motors. During his college career and afterwards he worked at North Pointe Automotive and worked at the Washington House as a waiter on the weekends. The Washington House orginally opened as the Ditz Hotel 1849. Justin aquired the business 2015 from his grandfather, Ron Beichner. Justin grew up at the Washington House from a young age, it is said he slept in a beer box under the counter when he was a baby. He and his fiance', Mandie Martin, have taken the piece of history , made several renovations and have a great menu with some of the best prices in the area. They also offer catering and have a banquet room availble for rent. Look for Justin (Goob) in the 2025 parade since the 2024 Parade was canceled due to inclement weather.

* ANYONE UNDER THE AGE OF 18 IS REQUIRED TO WEAR HELMETS ON HORSEBACK, FOUR WHEELERS, MOTORCYCLES AND BICYCLES.
* IF YOUR ENTRY WOULD LIKE TO HAND OUT CANDY WE ARE REQUIRING THAT YOU "HAND" THE CANDY OUT WHILE WALKING AND NOT THROW IT FROM YOUR ENTRY.
